When a pest control company offers a 5-year termite warranty, it typically means two things: a written commitment to re-treat the property at no extra cost if termite activity reappears within that period, and a schedule of periodic inspection visits to catch any early signs.

It does not usually cover damage that had already occurred before the treatment, or new construction/renovation work done after the treatment that disturbs the chemical soil barrier. That's why it's important to inform your service provider before any digging, flooring work or landscaping near the treated area.

Ask for the warranty terms in writing, including what triggers a free re-treatment, how many inspection visits are included, and whether the warranty is transferable if you sell the property. A credible provider will have no hesitation sharing this clearly before the work begins.
